After spending a full year outside Canada, it feels so good to be back. Traveling is amazing, but coming back and feeling that sense of belonging is also pretty necessary. I couldn’t travel indefinitely and avoid Canada forever, I miss it too much. If you’ve ever traveled the world for an extended period of time and just came back home, you might very well relate to this. There are so many things I missed about Canada! 1) Flushing toilet paper in the toilet Half the world (and maybe even more) doesn’t flush toilet paper down the toilet. Instead, you have to …

Stay fit on the road: Run for a cause

In Québec, Stay Fit on the Road by VirginieLeave a Comment

This post is part of the Stay Fit on the Road series. There’s nothing harder than trying to stay in shape while traveling around the world. Who wants to care about that extra plate of pasta you want to eat in Italy or that tacos in Mexico? You just want to taste what’s around you and even if you might walk a lot, it’s not always enough. When someone asks us where we’re from in Canada, this is usually how it goes: Chris: I’m from Saskatchewan. Stranger: Cool. Virginie: And I’m from Québec. Stranger: OH! Québec, I love Québec, it’s such …

Ipads everywhere!

In Toronto by VirginieLeave a Comment

So we’re in Toronto right now, with some time to kill. We can’t get any wifi in the E terminal because of the invasion of the Ipads (there’s at least 500 of them everywhere) We can’t really do anything on them, so time to use our laptops! I was a bit tired, but taking a nap on those chairs is REALLY HARD. Chris seems to be fine, the only thing he wants before we leave is A&W. Probably not gonna happen, haven’t seen one in our terminal! Maybe in 3 months then?… 🙂
