Paris Series: Halloween in Paris

In Paris, Tourist Life by VirginieLeave a Comment

We had the chance to be in Paris for Halloween! Unfortunately, it was our last day there before we had to flight out, so we couldn’t go out to party. Without getting all dressed up, we did get a good Halloween feeling by visiting the Medieval Museum and the Lachaise Cemetery!

We didn’t have that much planned for our last day in Paris, so we thought it would be a good idea to check out the medieval museum. It was indeed fun, but you need to like that period to enjoy it! I actually found the tapestry the most, which is not something I was ever found of! I was surprised by all the details in them and the story they were telling. After all, they served the double purpose of insulation and art!

There is a visit offered in the tunnels under the bath room, but it was already full when we got there. It’s apparently really dark and gloomy―which would have been perfect for Halloween―but we didn’t get to see it! I’d recommend trying it, if you can, as it seemed like a lot of fun! (And who doesn’t like going behing the ‘Authorized Personel Only’ sign?)

For some reason, we ended up walking SO much that day! I guess my planning kind of failed, as we walked for one end of the city to another. But there was something I wasn’t leaving without seeing and that was the Alexander III bridge, one of the most famous in Paris! On top of being in the ‘Someone Like You’ video by Adele, it’s also the bridge in Anatasia… Plus, it happens to be the prettiest one around!

Finally, we ended up at the cimetery, where we did try to find celebrity’s tomb, but completely failed at it. After all, the cemetery is pretty big and we didn’t have a map. Instead, we walked around, took some creepy pictures and kicked leaves at each other! It was a nice ending to our trip to Paris 🙂

And to be honest, it was about time it was over, as my feet couldn’t have taken another day! You can’t even imagine how happy I was to stay steated for 7 hours on the plane the next day!
